D-Link, McAfee Partner For Security Device

Fountain Valley, Calif. — D-Link and McAfee have partnered to incorporate McAfee's anti-virus software into D-Link's Securespot security device. The device is installed between a network router and broadband modem to protect up to four computers on a home network. According to the company, this small black box eliminates the need to install security programs on each networked computer individually.
Securespot users pay a subscription price of $99.99 for the first year and $79.99 for subsequent years of service. If a user wants to use the product for more than four computers in a network, they must pay an additional $19.99 licensing fee for each extra PC.
According to D-Link, McAfee's protection software isn't Securespot's only feature. Other aspects of the product include parental controls, a pop-up blocker, SPAM blocker, spyware protection, identity protection, firewall protection and a reporting device which tracks and gives detailed reports on the online activities of each networked computer. Also, D-Link says that the Securespot protection does not slow down the individual computers on the network.
The Securespot is available now.

Product is buggy and customer svc is horrible. I had many problems with the securespot after buying it TWICE and returned it both times. It does the same thing as my McAfee software, which I already have, and my Linksys router. Save your money, its scamware. Reviews on Amazon.com and CNET also confirm this.
