Halloween may still be a month away, but Hewlett-Packard is already looking forward to the winter holiday season by introducing its fourth quarter Compaq Presario desktop computer lineup.

The three series will hit retailer shelves on Oct. 6 and be available starting tomorrow at HP's online Web store, hpshopping.com. The new lineup starts with Presario 6300US, with an estimated street price of $399, including a $50 mail-in rebate. It features an Intel Celeron 1.4GHz processor, 128MB of RAM, 40GB hard drive and a basic CD-ROM drive.

The step-up 6320US adds an AMD Athlon XP 2000 processor, 256MB of DDR memory, 60GB hard drive, dual CD-RW and DVD-ROM drives and a $629 estimated street price. The top-end unit is the 6330US. With an estimated street price of $749 it increases processor power with the addition of an Intel Pentium 4 2.0GHz chip, while maintaining the same basic features of the 6320US.
