Sony Launches New Cyber-shots

San Diego — Sony will ship a trio of new Cyber-shot digital cameras to dealers this September.

The company will add a pair of models to its ultra-compact T-series and a model to its ultra-zoom H-series. All the new cameras feature 8-megapixel resolutions, optical image stabilization and incorporate HD outputs and face detection technology. The cameras will also all incorporate Sony’s Bionz image processor and feature light sensitivity to ISO 3200.

The new T-series cameras will feature a new touch-screen interface that lets consumers touch the screen to indicate a focus point or to adjust viewing in play-back model. They will also feature 10 scene modes.

The DSC-T200, which replaces the T100, will sport a 3.5-inch widescreen LCD screen and a 5x optical zoom lens. It can add music and transition effects to images in playback and offers 31MB of internal memory.

It will retail for an estimated $400 in be available in red, black and silver.

The T70, for an estimated $330, replaces the T20 will sport a 3-inch widescreen LCD and a 3x optical zoom lens. It will be available in pink, black, white and silver.

The DSC-H3 will be the entry-level ultra-zoom in the H-series with a 10x optical zoom (38mm – 380mm, 35mm equivalent). It offers a new, more compact design for the H-series, Sony said.

The H3 will feature a 2.5-inch LCD screen, nine scene modes and in-camera photo editing. It will retail for an estimated $300.
