OEM DVD-A/V Arriving Soon

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/9/2003

In-dash DVD-Audio/Video receivers will turn up from Pioneer and Kenwood for the first time, joining Panasonic in this segment (see p. 116). And Delphi plans to demonstrate a production model of its first in-dash CD/DVD-A/V-receiver, destined for a 2004 model-year launch by an unnamed customer beginning in late 2003.

It connects to a flip-down videoscreen in a car's headliner to display DVD-Video movies for back-seat passengers, who can use an IR remote to control the player.
