LG Bows Three LCD Monitor Series

By Colleen Bohen -- TWICE, 3/31/2008

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG Electronics has introduced three new series of LCD monitors, the W52, W00 and L7W series.

The manufacturer’s flagship W52 series ranges in size from 19 inches to 24 inches and each features a high-gloss, piano-black cabinet with a curved-bezel accent.

Like all LG monitors, they use the proprietary f-Engine picture-enhancing chip, which is said to enhance brightness and color independently of each other.

Other features include “ez Zooming” technology, said to be useful in magnifying images with the click of a button. The monitors also come equipped with 10,000:1 digital fine contrast technology.

The 19-inch and 22-inch models are said to offer a 2ms response time, while the 24-inch model offers a 5ms response time.

Suggested prices for the W52 models are:

  • $229 for the 19-inch;

  • $279 for the 20-inch;

  • $319 for the 22-inch; and

  • $499 for the 24-inch.

The W00 series includes a 26-inch and 30-inch model. Each are said to feature a slim and narrow design and offer 1080p resolution.

They come with the ez Zooming technology, 10,000:1 Digital Fine Contrast technology and feature 5ms response rates and Wide Color Gamut technology, meant to provide a more vivid viewing experience.

The 26-inch model has a suggested retail of $599, and the 30-inch is available for a suggested $1,399.

Finally, LG’s 22-inch L7W monitor incorporates an anti-glare screen. It offers Wide Color Gamut Technology, a 2ms response rate, 10,000:1 Digital Fine Contrast Technology, 300cd/m2 brightness, 1,680 by 1,050 resolution and a 170-degree by 170-degree wide viewing angle.

It is available at a suggested $339.
