LG Offers Portable DVD Burner

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG announced a portable DVD drive for transferring camcorder video to discs or for backing up personal data.

The multi-format GSA-5169D features a one-touch transfer button for converting analog video stored on camcorders of VHS tape to MPEG-2 video. The drive features a USB port, S-Video, RCA video and audio inputs. The drive can connect to a PC via USB and will be bundled with Nero and Cyberlink software.

It supports double-layer +/-R media and maximum write speed of 15x for DVD-R media and 5x for DVD RAM. The drive is shipping this month for a suggested $169.
