GN Netcom Intros 'Truly Wireless' Set

NASHUA, N.H. -GN Netcom has introduced the GN 9000 Digital headset, said to be the first over-the-head, truly wireless, 2.4 GHz hands-free product.
The GN 9000 Digital, at 2.1 ounces, offers seven hours of talktime and up to 50 feet of roaming distance from the base station. It provides crystal-clear clarity, long battery life and secure conversations in an ultra-lightweight headset system, the company said.
Designed for the small office and home office markets as well as the general office, the GN 9000 Digital combines a transmitter and receiver in a single compact unit that is said to be comfortable and attractive. The product has a suggested retail of $349 and began shipping this fall.
Designed for the SOHO markets, professional office and call center, GN Netcom's GN Ellipse transmits at the 2.4GHz frequency, offering interference-free reception anywhere within 200 feet of the base unit, in a coverage area of more than 125,000 square feet.
Users can choose from a full range of lightweight and comfortable headset styles that plug into a 4-ounce remote unit. Suggested retail is $450 for the remote unit and base station.
