SanDisk Shows Video Flash-Card Recorder

LAS VEGAS — SanDisk will show its V-Mate video flash-card recorder this week at South 4 S210 and South 4 36206. The V-Mate has video inputs allowing users to record video from a variety of external sources, such over-the-air TV, satellite/cable set-top boxes and DVD players. The content is downloaded onto a variety of flash-memory cards including SD, MMC, MMCplus, MMCmobile SDHC, MiniSDHC, MicroSDHC, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo. These can then be transferred to any portable video device for playback. The V-Mate has a maximum recording resolution of 640 by 480, so it can create files large enough to play back on a TV or notebook computer screen. The V-Mate, which measures 5.1 inches by 2.6 inches by 1 inch, has a $129 suggested retail.
