U.S. Luggage Enters PC Cases & Bags Market

Hauppauge, N.Y. — Solo, a new brand of notebook PC cases from U.S. Luggage, has hit the retail marketplace. The line, available now, includes a variety of cases and bags in configurations inspired by notebooks, messenger bags, briefcases and more.
The PB321-4 Convertible Laptop Backpack can hold a notebook measuring up to 15 inches and by removing the straps it can be converted from a vertical backpack to a cushion-handled portfolio. The bag features a zip-down organizer compartment complete with disk and accessory pockets as well as an accordion fan file and a removable padded computer sleeve. It has a suggested retail price of $99.99.
The PT920 Laptop Messenger Bag is a nylon bag that can accommodate a computer measuring up to 17 inches. Its full-length zippered main compartment contains a removable notebook pocket. With a suggested retail price of $69.99, other features include adjustable and removable shoulder straps and a large front flap with accessory pockets which is secured by an adjustable buckle.
The B420-4 3-Piece Rolling Laptop Case Set is a rolling nylon case with two removable padded cases, one for a 15.4-inch PC and the other for files. The manufacturer is positioning the product as an ideal tool for business travelers because it includes an "overnighter section" with elastic straps and buckles, ideal for securing clothing and shoes. Extra-wide wheels, a hidden telescoping handle system, cushioned carry handles, as well as a zip-down organizer compartment and an accessory pouch complete the package, which carries a suggested retail price of $149.
Solo's D529 Leather Rolling Laptop Case has a main compartment with a removable padded sleeve designed to accommodate a 15.4-inch PC. The front of the case features a zippered compartment with an organizer featuring a variety of pockets for holding disks, business cards and more. The back has additional accessory pockets including a special one designed to provide easy access to airline tickets.
Other features include removable, adjustable shoulder straps, cushioned carry handles and hidden telescoping handles. The case has a suggested retail price of $225 and is available in tan or black leather.
The B434-4 Smart Strap Laptop Portfolio features a padded shoulder strap that automatically retracts into the case when it is not being used. There is also a ticket pocket and an unzippable back pocket for slipping a portfolio over a rolling luggage piece for increased mobility, says the company. It comes complete with an accordion fan file and a variety of other organizational tools including a key fob and accessory card holder, and a padded pocket for a 15.4-inch laptop. Constructed of black ballistic nylon, it has a suggested retail price of $79.99.
Finally, the company is also launching a bag targeted specifically at the female market. The PM80-4/3 Ladies Laptop Tote comes in black micro nylon with "espresso 'crock-look' trim," said the company. It can hold a 15.4 inch notebook and features an unzippable pocket for slipping the tote over a rolling luggage handle. In addition to a variety of organizational pockets, the tote features shoulder straps and protective feet for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
