Englewood, Colo. — Carl Vogel, president of Dish Network, has resigned from the post for personal reasons and has been replaced by Charlie Ergen, who continues as chairman and CEO of Dish Network and EchoStar, the company said Tuesday.
Vogel will remain vice chairman of Dish Network and EchoStar, reporting to Ergen, and continues leading the corporate development, programming and business and commercial services functions.
Additionally, Erik Carlson, formerly Dish Network retail services and sales senior VP, and Tom Stingley, formerly Dish Network alliance management senior VP, have been promoted to executive VPs of operations and sales and distribution, respectively. Both originally joined EchoStar in 1995.
Carlson will report to Ergen and will oversee Dish Network’s home and commercial installations, customer service centers, internal customer billing, and equipment retrieval and refurbishment operations. Stingley will report to Jim DeFranco, EchoStar co-founder and executive VP.
The remainder of the Dish Network executive management team reporting to Ergen includes DeFranco, who leads sales and distribution, travel/events and marketing organizations; Stanton Dodge, general counsel and executive VP; Bernie Han, CFO/executive VP and Stephen Wood, chief human resources officer/executive VP.
