By Staff -- TWICE, 11/7/2005

Home theater enthusiasts are outfitting their homes with high-quality entertainment systems and including state-of-the-art headphones to enhance the experience.

To fill the demand, Sony is offering a frequency range to produce high-quality sound in the Super Audio series — a trio of step-up, lightweight, open-air headphones that include high-definition drivers for ample sound output.

The entry-level MDR-SA1000 offers cloth ear pads, a durable plastic frame and an 8kHz to 80kHz frequency response. Suggested retail is $200.

The step-up MDR-SA3000 includes a super-wide frequency range with high-definition 50mm driver units for a deep base audio, carbon composite frame and a featherweight fit. Suggested retail is $350.

Top-of-the-line MDR-SA5000 adds a magnesium frame and leather ear pads. Suggested retail is $700.
