Clarity Announces Hearing-Aid Handset

By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 11/25/2008

Chattanooga, Tenn. — Clarity, manufacturer of phones for the hearing impaired, will ship a new headset this month geared toward consumers with hearing aids.

The $79 Clarity CE30 is worn around the neck and connects to a home phone or cellular phone via included 2.5mm and 3.5mm connectors. It transmits sound from the call to the hearing aid, and a built-in microphone lets users carry on a hands-free conversation.

The CE30 features adjustable volume control via an oversized dial and is powered by a pair of AA batteries (included). The unit works on hearing aids with T-coils, which the company said represents roughly 60 percent of all hearing aids.
