Staff -- TWICE, 1/28/2002

Thomson Multimedia has introduced the RCA Touch Screen Learning Remote, which the company says is ideal for home theater enthusiasts looking for an efficient and easy way to manage their audio and video components.

The RCA RCU1000B controls up to nine devices and features a learning button and nine macro keys — allowing the user to customize entertainment center settings with the touch of a button.

The remote, featuring a high-resolution screen that measures 4.5 inches high by 2.5 inches wide, will sort through its extensive database of more than 300 codes, covering hundreds of device brands.

The RCA remote controls a TV, VCR, DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver, four audio devices and an auxiliary device. The macro keys can be programmed to memorize up to 20 keystrokes.

Other features include a built-in auto light sensor, quick access keys, stylus, time and date display, and time settings. Suggested retail is $129.
