AVAD Picks Up Onkyo

By Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 11/4/2008

Van Nuys, Calif. — Onkyo will offer its complete line of products through distributor AVAD to boost its penetration into the custom-install market, the companies said.

AVAD serves more than 11,000 certified dealers and installation companies through 37 locations.

"With such a high percentage of integrators relying on the distribution business model today for 'just in time' access to goods and services, a partnership with a comprehensive solutions provider with the reach of AVAD is a must to achieve in-depth access to the channel," said Keith Haas, sales director for Onkyo USA.

Onkyo has used distributors in the past, a company spokesman noted.
