LAS VEGAS — Directed Electronics is debuting, here, two new car audio brands in conjunction with West Coast Customs, the Los Angeles-based custom car shop made famous on the MTV show “Pimp My Ride.”
The West Coast Customs by Orion brand will include new high-end car audio products, and the West Coast Customs by Directed line will feature car video. Among the new video products is a high-definition 17-inch overhead monitor that has a unique removable DVD section that leaves the screen affixed in the car. The DVD module is MP3-capable with A/V outputs and 110V for home use. The model WCC OHD1702 also has a high-definition panel, split screen and picture in picture, and slots for CompactFlash and SecureDigital cards. It will carry a suggested list price of $1619.
The WCC Orion line includes four amplifiers, two of which are Class D mono models at 2,400 watts and 5,000 watts at $999 and $1,699, respectively. The products will be sold through Orion retailers and other authorized Directed retailers, said the company.
