Additional features include 10-channel memory, a battery-saving circuit that puts the radio into battery-saver mode if there are no transmissions within 10 seconds, key lock, 10 call tones, an illuminated LCD and a roger beep.

The package will include a two-port desktop charger.

The redesigned radio offers larger buttons than its predecessor, vibrating ringer, 20 call tones, an emergency alert that triggers a siren and a message to other radio users, a built-in LED flashlight, seven NOAA and four Environment Canada (EC) weather channels.

The $69.99 MJ270R offers an emergency alert, seven NOAA and four EC channels, LED flashlight. Finally, the entry-level MJ230R will retail for $59.99.

TriSquare Communications will offer two new license-free eXRS radios. The models communicate over the 900MHz spectrum using frequency hopping technology.

Both the TSX300R and TSX100R feature phone-book-style contact lists, call signaling and VOX. They will come in Realtree Advantage Timber HD housings.

The TSX100R ($79.99) has 1000 channels and a back-lit keypad. The step-up TSX300R features 10 NOAA channels and SMS text messaging for $109.
