Best Buy Bows Black Friday VIP Contest

By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 10/30/2008

Minneapolis — Best Buy will give star treatment to 25 Black Friday shoppers through its Black Friday VIP contest, which launched yesterday.

The retailer is asking consumers to “share how Black Friday shopping is an important holiday tradition for them and their family, and what kinds of rituals they have to make the morning after Thanksgiving an enjoyable kick off to the holiday season.”

Consumers can submit their entries at AskABlueShirt.net/blackfridayvip through Nov. 18. One winner in each of 25 markets will be notified by Nov. 24.

The winner in each market will receive a $1,000 Best Buy gift card. In addition, they and three guests will be driven to and from a designated Best Buy store in a limousine on Black Friday morning for “on-site pampering and prizes.” They will be allowed to enter the store at 4:30 a.m. and will have the chance to purchase up to four doorbuster products. Each winner will also receive a Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra Series camcorder.

Best Buy will bring the winners to a particular store in each of the following cities: Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston; Chicago; Cleveland; Dallas; Denver; Detroit; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami, Orlando and Tamp, Fla.; Minneapolis; New York; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Pittsburgh; Portland, Ore.; Sacramento, San Diego and San Francisco, Calif.; Seattle; St. Louis; and Washington D.C.
