Best Buy Intl.’s COO Resigns

Minneapolis — Kevin Layden will step down as chief operating officer of Best Buy’s international division on July 4.

No explanation was given for his resignation, which was revealed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, and no successor was named.

Layden, formerly president/COO of Best Buy Canada, joined the company from Circuit City in 1997 and was promoted to his current post last September. He gave notice on June 23, the filing indicated.
