Samsonite Unveils Computer Case Lineup

Samsonite is introducing a line of 15 computer cases, comprised of four different categories that address the specific requirements of the business traveler. These are Thin and Light, Traditional, Mobile Office and Business Casual.

Lightweight, compact and portable, the Thin and Light cases include the L25 Ultra Portable that accommodates many smaller size laptop computers, as well as the L35 Notebook and the L45 Notebook Plus that accommodates larger size laptops. Cases feature extra padded laptop compartments.

Traditional cases for notebooks include the XT 350 Compact, the XT 450 Front Flap, the XT 470 Side Pocket, the XT 580 Deluxe, the XT 530 Office and the 780 Leather. These offer EVA foam backing, reinforced protective corners and padded laptop compartments.

Mobile Office cases have smooth rolling wheels, retractable locking handles and padded case handles. Units include the Business One and the Side Loader.

Business Casual combines modern designs with functional features. Cases include the Ambition Messenger Bag, the Caliber Convertible Backpack, the Inferno Notebook case and a Leather Backpack.

Suggested retails for the computer bag collection range from $70 to $150. Availability is May.

Samsonite also is introducing a backpack line for the 2003 back-to-school season. The collection includes a variety of new trend-right colors and styles, spread among traditional backpacks, messenger bags and slings. Colors include key lime, blue star, orange and green.

The line will be nationally supported with advertising targeted to the college and high school market, and will be launched in July. Suggested retails will range from $29.99 to $49.99.
