Lighting Alliance Plugs In Web Site

By Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 12/20/2006

Warrenton, Va. — The Home Lighting Control Alliance (HLCA), formed last year to raise consumer and trade awareness of lighting-control systems, launched its Web site to spread the gospel.

The site features information about lighting-control technology and applications and links to its 25 member companies and associations, which include the Consumer Electronics Association. Their mission is to raise consumer, homebuilder, architect and interior-designer awareness of residential lighting-control systems in new construction, renovations and retrofit installations.

Their campaign is modeled after those developed by groups promoting multiroom audio and structured wiring. The markets for both categories have been growing at double-digit percentage rates since their respective promotional campaigns, the alliance said.

Membership consists of lighting control companies, systems integrators, retailers, distributors and industry support organizations. Members include AHA Design, Automated Outlet, CEA, CentraLite Systems, Control 4, Crestron, Echelon, ETC, Exceptional Innovation, FulTech Solutions, HAI, Home Logic, Leviton, Lightolier Controls, LiteTouch, Low Voltage Systems, Pass & Seymour, RL Johnson Construction, S&S Electric, Somfy Systems, Square D, Vantage Controls, WattStopper and Worthington Distribution.
