Howard Sternhas signed a five-year, multimillion dollar deal with Sirius Satellite Radio that will bring his top-rated comedy show to the No. 2 satellite radio service beginning Jan. 1, 2006 (see p. 52 for details)… Former Sears CE chief Ray Brown has joined Kmart as VP home electronics and home entertainment. Joining him is former Sears TV buyer Chuck Bacon, who was named video buyer… Joe Giametta, sales VP for Sony Electronics' portable audio and home video products, has joined Coby Electronics as sales VP. He replaces Jim Collmeyer who left Coby during August, the company said...Nelson Chan has been prompted to the newly created position of executive VP and general manager of the consumer and handset business at SanDisk. Chan, formerly VP of the retail business unit, will lead SanDisk's worldwide business across all channels and with all products... Tweeter has re-assigned VP/audio merchandising Dave Malin to the new position of VP/solutions and services as part of its new in-home distributed services strategy. His audio duties will be assumed by Dan Jeancola, who continues as VP/mobile electronics… Ultimate Electronics' senior VP/operations and former chief financial officer Alan Kessock will leave the company effective Nov. 4… NATM's operation director ErnieOlson will leave the buying group Nov. 1 to join Haier America as VP/service. He will be succeeded by Incredible Universe, Brick Church and Tops Appliance City veteran Michael Maud, who joins NATM from Bed, Bath and Beyond, where he is a district manager… Partsearch's founder Dean Summers has stepped down as president of the replacement parts company to focus on a new CE-related business… Jeff Noel named Whirlpool's corporate VP for communications and public affairs, effective Nov. 1. Noel is stepping down in October as president of Cornerstone Alliance, the Benton Harbor, Mich.-based economic development group... Jeff Myrland, formerly of MCI WorldCom, joins DSI Systems as brand manager of the Sacramento office... Joe Finn, ex-Tandem Marketing exec, joins Velodyne Acoustic as Eastern regional sales manager... CEDIA has announced that Ray Lepper, president of Home Media Stores of Virginia, has been elected to a second term as president of the association. He will serve on the CEDIA executive committee with the following members: Andy Willcox, VP of CEDIA, Integrated Systems of Highland Park, Ill.; Marilyn Sanford, treasurer, from La Scala, Vancouver, British Columbia; Ken Smith, secretary, of Custom Electronics, Falmouth, Maine; and Jeff Hoover, past CEDIA president of Audio Advisors, West Palm Beach, Fla.
