Staff -- TWICE, 12/6/2004

Terk Technologies is shipping XM Direct Smart digital adapters for Pioneer, Sony and Kenwood car stereo head units. These three models operate in conjunction with an XM Universal Tuner Box in a two-part XM Direct system that enables users to receive more than 130 XM satellite radio digital channels using the existing particular manufacturer car stereo controls. Suggested retail for the adapter is $49.99.

Terk also is shipping the XM Direct Universal Tuner Box for satellite radio-ready car stereo head units. This makes it possible for virtually any vehicle with a satellite-radio-ready head unit to receive the wide variety of XM programming. Suggested retail also is $49.99.

Terk's two-part XM System — adapter and tuner box — comes with everything needed for installation, including a micro antenna and an extra-long micro-coax cable, which is long enough for installation in any car, truck or SUV, said Terk
