Irwin M. Jacobs, a founder of Qualcomm, stepped down as chairman but will remain on the board. Paul Jacobs, CEO and his son, will succeed him as chairman ... Julius Genachowski, a venture capitalist, former chief counsel to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Reed Hundt and a member of President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, has been named to become the next chairman of the FCC. He will succeed Kevin Martin, the current FCC chairman ... Gary Lahmers, former Tweeter and HiFi Buys executive, joins American TV & Appliance as audio division manager ... Keith Ido, a 36-year JVC veteran who was most recently its buying group VP, joins Haier America as electronics sales VP ... Richard Goldberg, a 17-year Coby Electronics executive who was their executive VP and sales VP, joins Naxa Electronics as sales and marketing VP ... Brian Bradley, ex-multichannel senior VP with Circuit City, joins HSN as executive VP of HSN.com.
