Samsung Names Steel Marketing Sr. VP

Ridgefield Park, N.J. — Samsung Electronics America, has named David Steel as North American headquarters marketing (NAHQ) senior VP.
He will be responsible for corporate planning, marketing management and market intelligence, reporting directly to S.W. Hong, strategic marketing executive VP for NAHQ.
Steel takes on many of the responsibilities of Yoon Lee, who was recently named to marketing VP at Samsung Electronics’ Brazil office.
Steel comes to NAHQ after 10 years at Samsung Electronics in Korea. He started in Samsung’s global strategy group, where he worked on strategic projects for a number of subsidiary companies under the Samsung Group umbrella. From 2002 until 2007 he served as VP and head of marketing for the digital media business group.
In 2007, he moved to the mobile communications division, where he was head of global marketing strategy.
