IoGear Bows Headphone Kit, Adapter

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/30/2006

IoGear introduced a Bluetooth stereo headphone kit and a Bluetooth stereo adapter during International CES here earlier this month.

The Bluetooth stereo headphone kit enables users to wirelessly access MP3 players, home stereos or computers and includes a Bluetooth stereo headphone and a Bluetooth audio adapter. It also enables users to place and receive calls from any Bluetooth-equipped cellphone.

The Bluetooth stereo headphone from the Irvine, Calif.-based company comes with integrated buttons on the earpiece that control volume and enable start, stop, pause and music track selection modes. The headphone has a built-in rechargeable battery that delivers six hours of continuous use. Users can listen to music, or talk on the phone up to 66 feet away from the selected device. The headphone is designed to be worn behind the neck and fold up to fit in a bag or briefcase, the company said.

The headphone also comes equipped with a detachable microphone for cellphones. Along with the headphone, the Bluetooth stereo kit includes a Bluetooth audio adapter, which enables Bluetooth functionality for any audio source. The product can be used with MP3 players, home stereos, TV sets and computers. The adapter plugs into any audio jack, providing instant wireless access to audio devices without the need for any extra software, the firm said.

The Bluetooth Stereo Kit is priced at $179.95 suggested retail. Users can purchase the headphone, priced at a suggested $99.95, and audio adapter for $99.95.

IoGear's new Bluetooth serial adapter is a compact device that connects to a standard nine-pin serial port to communicate with another Bluetooth-enabled device. When used in combination with other Bluetooth-enabled products, IoGear's Bluetooth serial adapter replaces traditional serial cables in products such as laptop computers. With a range up to 330 feet, users can communicate with serial devices, well beyond the reach of conventional cables, the firm said. The suggested retail is $99.95.
