GE-Brand 900MHz Analog Phones Debut From Atlinks

By Staff -- TWICE, 9/30/2002

Atlinks, the Thomson-Alcatel joint venture, has introduced a new line of four GE-branded 900MHz analog cordless phones that feature a new design.

The new models range from basic cordless units to full-featured models that incorporate digital messaging systems and caller ID.

Their new look includes "nightglow" blue in the keypad and an upright base that makes it easier to read the caller ID display.

"Since 900MHz analog telephones continue to dominate the cordless phone category, we have developed a new line of products to fulfill consumers' desire for products that incorporate popular features into contemporary designs," said Eldon Chuck, Atlinks' marketing VP.

Features shared by the four new phones include 40-channel auto scan, which automatically selects the clearest channel, Crystal Clear Sound technology to reduce background noise, and digital security to help prevent interference from other cordless telephones.

The 26998GE1 is the top model, which features digital messaging, call-waiting/ caller ID, up to 14 minutes of instant message playback, a counter that displays the number of messages received and a voice stamp that recites the day and time of each message. Other features include a receiver beltclip. The phone can be desk- or wall-mounted. The suggested retail is $59.99.

The 26992GE1 sports a digital messaging system and includes remote message retrieval, a message counter and voice stamp. It has 14 minutes of digital message storage and a suggested retail price of $49.99.

The 26938GE1 is a call-waiting/caller ID model with a three-line LCD display. It also includes a headset jack, a caller ID review that lets the user scroll through the numbers of previous callers, and delete and dial-back function. The suggested retail price is $34.99.

The entry-level product in white or black includes 10-number memory, one-touch redial, and an auto scan and page function that allows paging of the handset from the base unit. The suggested retail is $24.99.
