Alpine Promotes $699 Systems

Torrance, Calif — Alpine announced a fall promotion on a 400-watt CD player with iPod controller plus amp and speakers for a suggested $699, through Dec. 25, $181 less than if the products were purchased separately.
Components include a CDA-9856 CD/MP3/WMA Ai-NET receiver; a KCE-422i Full Speed iPod cable; an MRP-M450 mono amplifier; two pairs of SPS-17C2 6.5-inch coaxial two-way speakers, and an SWS-1042D 10-inch dual 4-ohm subwoofer.
Alpine also announced its Blackbird docking portable GPS is now offering real-time traffic through NAVTEQ Traffic. The company also plans to ship this month a long delayed docking station for the Blackbird.
Alpine is also releasing two adapters originally shown at International CES. One is a video iPod adapter to connect an iPod to a car video monitor, offering both composite and S video. The KCE-415i interface box ships in mid-October at $90 suggested retail.
A new USB KCA-620M adapter can be used for playing subscription and other downloaded media from PlaysForSure and DRM devices through an Alpine AI-NET head unit.
The KCA-620M has a standard USB connector that can work with flash drives and portable hard drives as well as portable audio players at $160.
