Seagate Unveils 750GB Hard Drive

By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 5/8/2006

Seagate has introduced its first 750GB external hard drive.

The 750GB Pushbutton backup hard drive is being positioned by Seagate as a one-size-fits-all solution for consumers who require massive hard-drive capacity to store multimedia files and back up their primary computer. The company said the 750GB drive can hold 15,000 songs, 15,000 digital images, 50 hours of home video, 50 computer games and 25 DVD movies and still have 300GB of space left over to back up their computer.

The drive comes with backup software that can be activated with the push of a single button, USB 2.0 and 1394 FireWire connectivity. It is shipping in May with a $559 suggested retail price.
