Sling Slings Mobile Offers

San Mateo, Calif – Sling Media has kicked off a special promotion that will give customers who purchase a Slingbox Internet-based TV sender a free registration key for either a SlingPlayer Mobile for Pocket PC or the just released version of SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone.

The optional software normally carries a $29.99 suggested retail price.

The offer applies only to customers who purchase and register a SlingBox between Aug. 15 and Sept. 16.

SlingPlayer Mobile is software that allows Slingbox owners to control and watch their home TV from any network-enabled mobile phone or handheld computer (PDA) powered by Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system.

Sling Media also announced the release of its latest version of SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone software. The limited time free SlingPlayer Mobile offer is valid for both versions of Sling Media’s SlingPlayer Mobile software.

SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphones software is compatible with devices that run Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition version 5.0, including the Motorola Q, T-Mobile SDA and the iMate SP5m.

SlingPlayer Mobile for Pocket PC is compatible with devices that run Windows Mobile Pocket PC 5.0 and 2003 Second Edition, such as the Cingular 8125, Palm Treo 700w, PPC 6700, T-Mobile MDA and a number of handheld computers including the HP iPAQ and Dell Axim.

SlingPlayer Mobile supports 3G cellular services such as EV-DO or UMTS, WiFi, USB or Bluetooth-based connections.

SlingPlayer Mobile for Pocket PC and Windows Smartphone are also available as a free 30-day trial download from Sling Media’s Web site.
