LG Cuts 'Super Blu' Price

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — Faced with the imminent arrival of a competitive dual-format HD disc player from Samsung, LG Electronics has cut the price of its BH-100 Super Blu player to $999, according to a company spokesperson.
The unit, which is the first player capable of playing back both Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs, in addition to standard DVDs, was originally priced at a $1,199 suggested retail.
The suggested retail of Samsung’s forthcoming BD-UP5000
has been announced at $1,049, when it ships in the fourth quarter.
