CEDIA Camp Boots Up
Indianapolis — CEDIA completed its first three-day installation Boot Camp of the year and plans two more for April 10-12 and June 5-7. The program began in 1997. Boot Camp prepares individuals for an exam for Installer Level 1 certification. Registration is at www.cedia.org.
Home Entertainment '02 Plans Seminar Offerings
New York — Home Entertainment 2002, planned here for May 31-June 2 at the New York Hilton, plans 13 seminars during the three-day consumer event. Topics include flat-panel TV, SACD, DVD-Audio, HDTV, home networking, and DLP projectors. A preview day is planned for May 30 from noon-6 p.m. for the trade, press, and advance ticket holders. Integra's A-Bus In Gear
Upper Saddle River, N.J. — Integra has shipped its A-Bus expansion kit, which enables A-Bus-ready A/V receivers to distribute audio to up to four zones in a house via eight-conductor cables such as CAT-5. Previously, installers had to use Russound A-Bus expansion kits. The $900-suggested kit consist of four in-wall keypad controller with internal amplification, which powers local in-wall or enclosed speakers. Additional keypads are $195.
Elan Zones Out
Lexington, Ky. — Elan has modified its Z-630 multisource/multizone AV controller to double the number of potential distributed-AV zones to 12 from six. Up to four of the three-zone preamp-controllers can now be connected. Previously, only two could be connected.
