Kingston Intros Performance-Enhancing USB Drives

Fountain Valley, Calif. — While it won’t help you break Barry Bonds’ home run record, flash-memory supplier Kingston’s new DataTraveler USB flash drive can double as a memory source for PCs running Windows Vista to improve performance.

The DataTraveler ReadyFlash drives offer Windows ReadyBoost functionality, allowing the drives to serve as additional memory sources to DRAM for processing data and applications on PCs and notebooks.

When the drive is connected to a PC, users can opt to have the drive engage the ReadyBoost feature or choose to use it as a conventional storage device.

The ReadyFlash drives are shipping now in 1GB and 2GB capacities for a suggested $22 and $42, respectively.
