HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF – Thermador, a division
of BSH Home Appliances, has introduced a combination
steam and convection oven that combines the benefits of
both heating technologies within one appliance.
The premium majap maker describes the product as
the luxury tier’s first pre-programmed oven to combine
three distinct cooking options — steam, true convection
and a combination of the two. It also includes 40 automatic
food programs, nine advanced cooking modes
and a series of advanced features that are geared toward
the cooking enthusiast, the company said.
Launching this month in time for the holidays through
authorized Thermador dealers nationwide, the 1.4-cubicfoot
capacity oven can accommodate a 14-pound turkey
and cook it in 90 minutes using the combination mode.
Steam, which eliminates the need for cooking with
butter or fat while preserving vitamins, minerals and
nutrients, will keep the interior moist, while convection
cooking will ensure a crisp crust, the company said.
The oven will carry a suggest retail price range of
$3,300 to $3,500.
Separately, the BSH division plans to launch a revitalized
brand image and new marketing campaign for 2011.
