New Maytag Group Aims At Luxury Segment

Maytag has formed the Maytag Specialty Group to target the luxury segment of residential kitchen appliances and to expand the company’s commercial foodservice business.

The division, to be head by newly appointed VP/general manager Roger Scholten, will be comprised of Maytag’s Amana Commercial Products unit and its Jade Products Co. subsidiary, which manufactures commercial kitchen products and Dynasty brand residential white goods.

“The focus of the new Specialty Group will be expanding our product offering in both luxury kitchen appliances for the home and commercial foodservice equipment,” said Maytag senior VP Roger Scholten, to whom Ibsen reports.

Ibsen, a former head of Electrolux’s India operations and VP of the company’s global accounts, joins Maytag from Appliancezone, a London-based supply chain service provider for the majap and CE industries.
