Truong Resigns From Electrolux
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN— Jack Truong has stepped down as president/CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances North America and executive VP of parent company AB Electrolux. President/CEO Keith McLoughlin has succeeded him on an interim basis while the manufacturer seeks a successor.

Elecrolux, which is on track to acquire GE Appliances this year for $3.5 billion, revised its projected quarterly results downward due to the ongoing impact in North America of product transitions stemming from tighter federal energy efficiency requirements imposed last year. Earnings will also be affected by the longer-thananticipated ramp up of a new cooking plant in Memphis, Tenn. Truong, a chemical engineer by training, assumed command of Electrolux’s North American operations in 2011 after 22 years at 3M.

Chef Of The Future
HANNOVER, GERMANY – The future is now, or at least it will be in two years when Moley Robotics introduces a consumer version of its Robotic Kitchen. The system features a pair of mechanical arms and articulated hands that have been programmed to prepare thousands of recipes with the same motion, flourish and nuance of BBC Master Chef Tim Anderson. A two-year collaboration between Moley, Shadow Robot, Yachtline, Dysengno, Sebastian Conran and Stamford University professor Mark Cutkosky, the smartphone-controlled concept was debuted at this month’s Messe Hannover industrial technology show here, and is projected to carry a $15,000 price tag when its ready for public consumption in 2017.
