ABD Publishes Buying Guide

ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. – Appliance Builder Distributor (ABD) is helping homeowners navigate the kitchen remodeling process with the release of the “Jewel Buying Guide,” which offers advice in choosing appliances that best fit customers’ quarters.

“Many of our customers are inspired to renovate their kitchens around a singular, must-have appliance that will be the ‘jewel’ of their home,” said marketing planning manager Lisa Ono. “Our new Jewel Buying Guide takes the guesswork out of choosing appliances” by outlining the four “S” rules of kitchen renovations: spending plan, setting, style and secondary pieces.

The complimentary guide is available online through Appliance Builder Distributor’s three regional chains – Standards of Excellence, Westar Kitchen, and Bath and Florida Builder Appliances – which together operate 22 showrooms throughout California, Arizona and Florida.

AHAM Appoints Certification Chief

WASHINGTON – The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) has named Ralph Hudnall director of product certification and verification.

A veteran of Sunbeam Household Products, Hudnall joins AHAM from Euro-Pro Operating, where he led product safety compliance efforts across all product lines including portable and floor care appliances. In his new post, he will oversee AHAM’s ongoing and new appliance rating certification and verification programs for room air cleaners, room air conditioners, dehumidifiers and refrigerators and freezers.

AHAM is also developing verification programs for clothes washers and dishwashers, and is expected to receive approval from Energy Star as a recognized verification administrator for those programs, the trade association said.
