Friedrich Moves Headquarters

SAN ANTONIO —

Friedrich Air Conditioning has moved
its headquarters into 22,000 square feet of space at the
Union Square II Building at 10001 Reunion Place, here,
after almost 40 years at 4200 Pan Am Expressway.

The move included about 90 employees in management,
accounting, marketing and sales, product management,
engineering, information systems, credit, customer
service, human resources and production management.

In addition to the building’s light-filled space, a new
open floor plan facilitates better communication, and
loser proximity to San Antonio International Airport will
makie visits to Friedrich’s headquarters easier for customers
and vendors, the company said.

“This new space at Union Square II allows us to consolidate
our staff onto a single floor,” said CEO George
Van Hoomissen. “It is modern and open with design details
that reflect our core business.” For example, copper
air conditioning coil was used as a design element of the
reception desk, while employee work stations feature
cabinets with a side that emulates the outside grille of
the company’s window air conditioners, he said.

“So far, we’ve received excellent feedback from our
employees and visitors,” Hoomissen said.

Founded in 1883, Friedrich Air Conditioning Co. manufactures
commercial and residential grade room cooling
solutions including room air conditioners, single package
vertical units, packaged terminal air conditioners, throughthe-
wall air conditioners, ductless split systems, hazardous
location units, portable air conditioners and dehumidifiers.

The company’s newest room air platform, Kühl, which
features interchangeable color front panels, launched
earlier this year.
