Anaheim, Calif. – The BrandSource buying group said its new appliance application for iPhone and iPad is the most downloaded majap app by consumers.
The app can access 12,000 appliance SKUs and provide product names, images, features, pricing and rebate information within comparison charts that can display up to three items at a time. The app also features store locators with driving directions and email or telephone contact information.
BrandSource said the app was designed to change the buying experience for customers and help its dealers remain competitive as a growing numbers of consumers reach for their smartphones as part of the shopping and decision-making process.
“We’re creating an ecosystem to help both customers and BrandSource members have information immediately in the palm of their hands, and this is a huge, game-changing advantage,” said BrandSource CEO Bob Lawrence. “No more running to the counter with a salesperson and looking things up on a computer, no more rifling through books or brochures.”
Founded in 1969, BrandSource is a 100 percent member-owned merchandising group with nearly 4,500 independent dealer members in North America and close to 3,000 BrandSource-branded stores in the U.S. selling appliances, consumer electronics, flooring and home furnishings.
