Western Digital released a new series of external hard drives in its My Book Studio line.
The drives are available immediately in capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB with prices ranging from $149 to $299.
They feature 256-bit encryption that encodes the content before it is stored, and the drives use Western Digital's SmartWare backup software that provides automatic and continual backup. SmartWare is compatible with Apple's TimeMachine backup software.
