Sony introduced last week a Vaio entertainment hub HD PC/TV and two new notebooks, including the Vaio X series that weighs in at 1.6 pounds.
The Vaio L Touch HD PC/TV is centered around a 24W-inch WUXGA resolution touchscreen panel that displays FullHD resolution. The unit will come in several configurations with a base price of $1,300.
The company said select models will feature a Blu-ray Disc optical drive, and a BD rewritable drive is also available. Other features can include a built-in TV tuner to receive over-the-air HDTV signals, and the L Touch can add an HDMI input, allowing the unit to connect through a set-top box, satellite receiver or PlayStation3.
The unit's DVR can store 100 hours of HD content.
The PC part of the product is powered by an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, built-in 802.11n and the upcoming Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
Sony is taking pre-orders for the L Touch starting Oct. 8, and it will ship to retail in November, the company said.
