MSI Bows Latest Gaming Notebook

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CALIF. — MSI Computer has announced its new GX620/GX720 gaming notebook. The device’s key features include a Blu-ray player, the company’s Vivid Image Enhancement Technology, the NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 3-D graphics card and Dolby 7.1 digital surround-sound capabilities.

The machine is outfitted with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and the processor’s speed can be increased as much as 15 percent with the device’s Turbo Drive Engine technology. This proprietary technology is said to “allow the notebook to run smoother and enhance the gaming experience.”

The company’s new Eco Engine allows users to conserve battery life by alternating between five different operating modes.

Other key features include an integrated 2-megapixel Web cam, Bluetooth capabilities, an HDMI input, a four-in-one card reader and three USB ports.

On the cosmetic side, the device is enclosed in an alloy case with red accents, and it features quick-launch touch sensors.

According to a spokesperson, the 15.4-inch GX620 carries a suggested retail of $1,599 and the 17-inch GX720 will be available at a suggested $1,799. Both will be available in September.
