Mio Bows New GPS PDA

Mio Technology will introduce a new Pocket PC-based handheld computer with built-in GPS designed to operate as both a handheld PDA and navigation system.

The new Mio 168RS uses Intel’s Xscale 300MHx processor with access to Microsoft’s Pocket Outlook, Word, Excel, Media Player and Internet Explorer, as well as “out of the box” GPS navigation.

Users can flip open the built-in antenna and receive point-to-point driving directions using voice and moving map display. If walking in a new city, users can also plug a headset to receive directions.

The Mio 168RS has a 3.5-inch display with 32MB of flash ROM and 64MB of SDRAM. It comes with maps of the United States, including Hawaii, and Canada, along with millions of points of interest, at a suggested $599.
