Microsoft announced today that its Windows Media Player with MP3 capability is available for all palm-size PCs from Compaq, Casio and Hewlett-Packard.
Windows Media compression allows users to download two hours of CD-quality digital music on a 64MB device or one hour’s worth using the MP3 format.
Microsoft previously announced the beta version of Windows Media for palm-size PCs at CES in January. But today, users may actually download the Windows Media Player from Microsoft.com.
Casio and Hewlett-Packard already offer MP3 capability on some of their palm-size units.
