HP Updates Pavilion, Presario

Hewlett-Packard refreshed its Pavilion and Presario notebook lines during its annual Mobility Summit, held here last week.

The Pavilion line received the DV2000 Series Entertainment notebook PC, while the Presario side picked up the V3000 Series. Each uses HP’s new exterior finish, called Imprint. This molding technique gives the exterior a subtle wave pattern that is integrated into the polish metallic finish. Other common features are a high-definition, widescreen 14.1-inch display and QuickPlay 2.1. QuickPlay saves battery life by playing a DVD without booting up the computer.

The DV2000 has a $1,099 starting price, and the V3000 is priced at $949.

On the technical side each model can be configured with a variety of Intel Centrino Duo, Core Duo or AMD’s mobile Sempron and the upcoming Turion 64×2 processor. The DV2000 can handle a slightly larger 120GB hard drive; 100GB is available in the V3000, with 2GB of memory.
