The threat of computer viruses was not enough for Symantec's Norton Antivirus 2003, as Electronic Arts Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets was the top selling software title for the week of Nov. 17, according to NPDTechworld.
The start of the holiday shopping season greatly effected the software market with eight of the top 10 sellers falling into the game category. EA The Sims: Unleashed Expansion Pack and Deluxe were third and fourth, while Infogrames Entertainment took the next two slots with Roller Coaster Tycoon and Backyard Hockey. EA's Medal of Honor: Allied Assault was seventh.
Microsoft's Windows XP in eighth was the other productivity title on the list, followed by its game titles MS Zoo Tycoon and MS Age of Mythology.
