Fashion Week For Sony And Voodoo PC

Sony and Voodoo PC will try to make Apple-like fashion statements with their newest computer introductions.

Sony last week introduced the new FJ line of Vaio notebook computers that come with a palette of five case colors. The FJ Series, for $1,400 suggested retail price, will start shipping this month with the onyx black being the first available at retail.

Models sporting pearl white, raspberry red, jade green and sky blue will sell at SonyStyle stores and Sony’s online store in November. Pre-orders for all models are being accepted. All the notebooks feature a 14.1-inch display and a Intel Pentium M 740 1.7GHz processor. Other features include a 100GB hard drive, 802.11b/g wireless networking, 512MB of memory (expandable to 2GB), and the consumer can choose from a variety of DVD and CD burners.

For its part Voodoo PC’s unveiled its new IDOL desktop computer. The IDOL is a mousepad-size PC that will be made available in a variety of colors with a $899 starting price. Like all Voodoo PCs, the IDOL is built from the ground up by the consumer with the base components including an Intel Pentium M processor, 7,200rpm Hitachi hard drive, DVD burner and a DVI connection. A selection of operating systems also will be available.
