Chattanooga, Tenn. - Plantronics' Clarity division has launched two new DECT 6.0 amplified phone systems for the hearing impaired.
The two new phones - the D613 and the D603 - sport an ergonomic design with soft touch buttons and bold numbers and text.
The cordless handsets amplify incoming sounds up to 30 decibels, up to 32 times louder than a normal telephone, according to Clarity. They feature large, easy-to-push buttons and a contrasting caller ID display for people with low vision. The phones are compatible with hearing aids and T-coils and comply with TIA-1083 guidelines.
Both feature call waiting, caller ID, call screening, call transfer and mute call functions. They include a speakerphone, a 30-name and number phonebook and nine speed-dial options.
The D613 adds a digital answering machine.
The phone systems can be expanded with up to five handsets on one phone line. There is intercom capability between handsets. Each handset offers up to six hours of talktime per charge. Menu language is available in English, French and Spanish.
The new phones are available now for purchase at retailers and online for $89.95 (D613) and $79.95 (D603). An expandable handset, the D613HS, is available for $49.95 separately, or bundled with the D613 for $119.
"Our new DECT product line combines advanced amplification with a pragmatic design," said Carsten Trads, president of Clarity. "We have created technology for the hearing impaired for 40 years, so we have a deep understanding of the people who use and need our products. Hearing loss is often one of several health challenges our customers face. That's why our new DECT line is aimed at helping people with low vision and limited mobility as well as hearing loss."
Clarity is a leading supplier of amplified telephones, notification systems, assistive-listening devices and other communications devices for the hearing-loss and deaf markets.
