Lowepro Debuts Extensive Portable Bag Lineup

Portable storage maker Lowepro introduced a line of bags for cameras, camcorders, memory cards, CDs and DVDs here at CES earlier this month.

The bag, backpack and pouch maker is offering its Monaco Collection, a “sleek, elegant” way for music lovers to protect their CDs and DVDs at home, in the office or on the road.

Monaco storage wallets from the Santa Rosa, Calif.-based company are constructed with an ultra-slim profile, designed for maximum protection. Monaco is available in six different sizes and three basic designs, including single-stack, double-stack and CD player case. Suggested retail range is $9.99 to $39.99.

The Lowepro Aspen CD Collection is a group of “compact and stylish” cases for transporting and protecting portable CD players, CDs and DVDs. It is the first product line of its kind to provide complete access to the CD player, its ports and control buttons, without having to remove the player from its protective sleeve, said the company.

Aspen cases are made from durable, water-resistant outer fabric, making them perfect for an active lifestyle. These are available in nine sizes for storing up to 208 CDs or DVDs. Suggested retail range also is $9.99 to $39.99.

The Tropolis Notebook Computer Cases, models 1100 and 1200, are part of a Lowepro line that offers a rugged, space-saving method to carry and protect notebook computers and accessories in a traditional briefcase design.

In addition to notebooks, the Tropolis cases can safely and efficiently store PDAs, compact digital cameras and accessories, cellphones and other devices. Suggested retail is $59.99 for the 1100 and $69.99 for the 1200.

Edit-series digital video and miniDV cases consist of four models — the Edit 120, 140, 140+ and 160. These “carefully designed” cases, are constructed to safely carry and protect nearly every DV and miniDV camcorder on the market today, said the company.

Each case provides a number of storage options, including front pockets, organizers, two side pockets and interior dividers, for a custom fit and secure transport. The Edit 140+ has an extended bottom for additional accessories, which can be completely removed to lighten the load. Suggested retail is $39.99.

New from Lowepro is an ultra lightweight compact all-weather backpack, complete with wheels and tuck-away shoulder hardness and waist belt for greater travel flexibility. Called the Rolling Mini Trekker AW backpack, it uses sealed bearing wheels to provide smooth, easy rolling and shock absorbing comfort, while protecting the bottom of the bag from damage when transporting camera equipment, the firm said.

The backpack offers an all-weather exterior, several compartments for storage, padded dividers and two large laminated pockets in the interior main compartment to provide added space for non-photographic essentials. The backpack can be carried in the traditional over-the-shoulder method, hand carried or by roller transport. It will be available in March for a suggested $279.

Lowepro also is featuring its Rezo-series TLZ 10 and TLZ 20 cases, designed to carry and protect the new generation of digital SLR cameras and accessories. Its top-load design is ideal for SLR cameras with fixed or interchangeable lenses.

Cases are constructed from a combination of stretch fabric, nail head nylon and micro-fiber, which keeps the camera and accessories securely fastened, while maintaining compact size and shape. Suggested retail for the TLZ 20 is $34.99.

Availability date for all the newly introduced Lowepro portable storage is March.
