Terk Technologies will broaden its lineup of T2 custom-installation signal management solutions with the introduction of its AP-RF pole-mount inline amplifier. This is designed for use with an off-air antenna to provide increased signal strength for improved reception.

The AP-RF features adjustable gain, which fine-tunes performance in any installation, and is designed to mount directly to an antenna mast. It is fully compatible with an HDTV off-air antenna, due to its high-bandwidth design that enables the full bandwidth of HDTV signals to be passed with no degradation in quality.

The AP-RF is designed for total installation flexibility. It can be used either outdoors or indoors, and it installs between an off-air antenna and a Terk T2 multiswitch or RF splitter. Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date, said Terk.

The company also is introducing its HDTVo, a highly compact amplified outdoor antenna that combines HDTV reception performance with stylish, unobtrusive design and installation flexibility in a wide variety of outdoor applications.

Designed for homeowners in urban and suburban locations who are seeking the same reception quality a larger outdoor antenna can deliver, the HDTVo utilizes a purpose-designed, highly directional log periodic antenna array in conjunction with a pair of curved elements that capture and focus HDTV signals toward the array. The design also provides a high degree of interference rejection, according to Terk.

The unit offers versatile installation flexibility by unfolding in seconds. It is supplied with a multimount mini-mast and base that enables the antenna to be installed on a roof, wall, balcony or in an attic.

Suggested retail is $119.95, and the unit has a planned shipping date of the end of December.
