TDK is extending its accessories lineup to include maintenance products specifically formulated for use with DVD and CD hardware and media.
The new line features three cornerstone products — 8cm camcorder DVD lens cleaner for 8cm DVD camcorders, DVD lens cleaner for 12cm DVD recorders and players and CD/DVD repair and clean for discs — which are said to make it easier for consumers to capture and preserve important content.
The camcorder DVD lens cleaner optimizes the performance of DVD camcorders by removing dirt and dust buildup from the optical laser lens. The lens cleaner, at a suggested $16.99 retail, is compatible with all camcorders that support DVD-R media. It also works with all DVD recorders and players, PC DVD drives and game consoles that support 8cm DVD-R discs, said TDK.
The DVD lens cleaner helps maintain optimal hardware performance by eliminating dust buildup on the sides of discs where data is stored. This buildup can transfer from the discs to the recorder or player's optical laser lens causing data errors. At a suggested $16.99 retail, the cleaner provides step-by-step interactive instructions via intuitive onscreen menus. The included speaker and color calibration modes add up to a complete home theater maintenance solution, said TDK.
The CD/DVD repair and clean is a heavy-duty maintenance accessory that quickly and easily removes scratches and cleans discs, said the company. It corrects skipping and restores playback, protecting valuable movies, music and games. The all-in-one kit offers complete CD and DVD care in a two-step process with “simple” scratch removal and cleaning/polishing phases. The storage case fits seamlessly into consumers' DVD collections providing convenient storage for future use. Suggested retail is $14.99.
